Apple held its first special event of the year, ‘the spring event’ and launched a variety of products.

On April 20, Apple CEO Tim Cook launched the company’s spring loaded event which was absolutely packed with new products that were announced worldwide. The event took place on a live-stream through Apple’s official website and YouTube channel. Apple unveiled the latest iPad Pro, which features a mini-display and an M1-level processor. The Apple Pencil hasn't changed. Apple did not release an iPad mini or a low-cost iPad. New Air Tag and tracker accessories, an upgrade to Apple TV 4K, and a new springtime color for the iPhone have all been added to Apple's rich device ecosystems. 

24-inch iMac with M1

Blue, Green, Pink, Silver, Yellow, Orange, and Purple are the seven colors available for the current iMacs. Since these new iMacs are also equipped with the new M1 chipset, one can expect a significant increase in performance. With a 24-inch Retina touchscreen, a new 1080p FaceTime HD camera, and a high-fidelity six-speaker setup, the iMac is also thinner than ever. The iMac starts at $1,299 and begins shipping in mid-May.

iPad pro 

The latest M1 iPad Pro models are said to deliver a performance boost of 50% over the previous generation. According to Apple, the M1 improves on the first iPad by 75 times. Graphics efficiency has been improved by 40%. Apple claims that the latest iPad Pro is 1500 times faster than the first-generation iPad, and that it also has console-level graphics. The 11-inch iPad Pro costs $799, while the 12.9-inch iPad Pro costs $1,099. Apple announced that pre-orders would begin on April 30 and that the tablets will be available in the second half of May. 

Purple iPhone 12 color for spring

Apple has released a new Purple iPhone 12 color variant. This latest color scheme is exclusive to the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini. The only difference is the purple color whereas the other iPhone 12 features remain the same. From April 30, one will be able to purchase the new Purple-colored iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini, though pre-orders gave begun from April 23. 

Apple AirTags

Apple unveiled its official first-party monitoring accessories following a major update to its Find My App, which is now used on approximately 1 million smartphones. The AirTag trackers can be attached to your personal items and used in connection with the Find My App to help you locate them if they are lost or stolen. One AirTag costs $29 and a pack of four costs $99. One can buy them online from Apple’s website. 

A new Apple 4K TV 

The new A12 Bionic processor, which supports Dolby Vision and HDR in high frame rates for smoother images, is included in today's Apple TV 4K refresh. According to Apple, enhanced AirPlay also supports high frame rate HDR. A new remote control is also available, which has a completely different appearance. Siri voice commands are also supported by the Apple TV. The new Apple TV 4K starts at $179 for 32GB and $199 for double the capacity.
