SCORCHING HEAT AND UNENDING THIRST, unbearable summers are here. And though we enjoy a peg (or two; okay four!) of whisky, chilled beer is something that is inevitable on those Sunday brunches and cookouts. We decided to take things up a notch and mix it up. JUST URBANE curated the best recipes from India’s finest beer craftsmen. Drink up!

GREEN COOLER
Recipe by: Navin Patrick, Managing Partner, Tehelka, Pune
INGREDIENTS
- 30 ml vodka
- 2 gms green apple chunks
- 15 ml sweet and sour
- 5-6 mint leaves
- 250 ml draught beer
METHOD
- Cut the apples into cubes.
- Mix and shake vodka and sweet and sour lime together.
- Add apple chunks and mint to it.
- Top it up with a draught beer.

APPLE GIN GIMLET
Recipe by: White Owl, India
INGREDIENTS
- 1 gm green apple chunks
- 1 gm red apple chunks
- 30 ml gin
- 4 drops of Tabasco sauce
- 15 ml sweet lime
- 250 ml White Owl Spark
METHOD
- Cut the apples into
- cubes and mix together.
- Mix and shake gin and sweet lime.
- Add tabasco sauce to it.
- Now add the apples to this mixture and stir with a wooden ladle.
- Add White Owl Spark to it which has fresh citrusy flavours.

BREWER’S DELIGHT (BRAVO)
Recipe by: Chef Ishijyot Surri, Executive Chef Copper Parrot Restaurant & Bar, Mumbai
INGREDIENTS
- 30 ml vodka
- 10 ml lime juice
- 15 ml sugar syrup
- 1 pint of beer
METHOD
- Add lime juice and sugar syrup together
- Add vodka and ice cubes to it.
- Shake it vigorously.
- Top it with a pint of beer.

TWO LOST SOULS SWIMMING IN A FISH BOWL

INGREDIENTS
- 60 ml tequila
- 25 ml lime juice
- 25 ml triple sec
- A bottle of beer of your choice
METHOD
- Shake tequila, lime juice and triple sec in a cocktail shaker.
- Serve the mixture over ice with a chilled beer placed upside down in a fishbowl container.

M SQUARE

INGREDIENTS
- 30 ml vodka
- 10 ml lime juice
- 4 to 5 chunks of ginger
- 1 pint of beer
METHOD
- Muddle the ginger chunks with lime juice.
- Add vodka along with ice and shake it.
- Top it with beer.
