Mercedes-Benz has launched the Maybach of SUVs — the Maybach GLS 600 in India. Based on the GLS, which is actually known as the S-Class of SUVs, the GLS 600 comes at a sticker price of Rs 2.43 crore. It goes up against the likes of premium SUVs such as the Bentley Bentayga and Range Rover, but even with a hefty tag, it can be considered as one of the most affordable luxurious SUVs in India.
The Maybach GLS 600 is similar in looks to the standard GLS. There are changes that make this ultra-luxurious SUV stand apart from the standard, starting with the looks. The Maybach GLS gets a lot of chrome treatment on the outside and a classically designed Maybach style grille in the front. Other significant changes include the upright three pointed star on the hood, an illuminated running board that is electronic to help you get in and out with ease and dual-tone paint scheme with plenty of chrome detailing accounting for a premium finish on the outside. The Maybach GLS runs on 22-inch wheels and can be upgraded to 23-inch as per individuals choice.
On the inside, the luxury SUV boasts a lot of changes. Retaining the 12.3-inch screens, each for infotainment and the instrument cluster, the Maybach GLS 600 now gets those screens with Maybach logos. The biggest change to note is the absence of the third row. Yes, to make your drives more comfortable, the third row has been removed and the second row has been pushed back by 120mm, to offer more leg room at the rear. Also, prioritizing comfort, there are features such as reclining and massage seats in the second row, four-zone climate control, a tablet for all the controls, electric roller blinds and big screens mounted on the backrest of front seats. But that's not all, to make the cabin look large; there is a huge panoramic sunroof as well. Needless to say, you can also get optional features such as a refrigerator and Mercedes’s E-Active suspension on request
With the new 50 Maybach GLS 600 being already getting booked, the prospective buyers can configure their Maybach GLS 600 now and book them through the Mercedes-Benz digital retail platform and expect a delivery by the first quarter of 2022.
