"We travel for romance, we travel for architecture, and we travel to be lost- Ray bradbury"

Seeing the year 2020 pass by in a heartbeat has been extremely nerve racking for all of us. Reliving old memories through pictures and videos is all we could do. As we enter 2021, we’re surely going to have a look down the memory lane and probably feel proud of ourselves to have survived it and pushed ourselves during the worst days. Though most of us think of 2020 as a cursed year, I think it was more of a ‘Reality Check’ year. If nothing, at least we now know that money can never buy good health. After the announcement of the first lockdown that was going to last for 21 days, we wondered how we would survive those 21 days but time flew and we never knew when days turned to months. I think we cannot deny the changes all of us have been through as humans. Firstly, we revised what it means to be a human. Secondly, we adjusted to staying inside our homes for days and realised spending hours with our families isn’t that bad after all. Though we all lost it quite a lot many times but we sure did learn patience. Lastly, the entire human race preached empathy and grasped in the importance of every breath we take and how grateful we should be for it. Words would fall short if I go on listing what a blessing in disguise 2020 was for every individual’s personal growth.

When forced into an adverse situation, we adapt to the necessary changes and it becomes a routine before we know it. ‘The New Normal’ as we call it is the very proof of my statement. Who knew that mornings would begin with a zoom meeting where one’s wearing a fusion of formals and pyjamas? Who knew people would post stories that they actually miss being at college or at work? One might by fault forget the keys but won’t forget a mask these days. Well, living in the fashion era where outfits are designed in parallel to the accessories, face masks have become a part of it too. It’s funny seeing how people avoid stepping out just because they don’t have a mask matching their outfit. The world seems to be coming back to its feet but now it feels like a whole new life after all the uncertainty we’ve been through and we try to find memories of life before the pandemic happened.

Toddlers now operate mobile phones like a pro and we wonder if all this technology is too much for such little brains. Speaking of technology, we seem to have been addicted to it, as we now depend on a mobile, a laptop and good internet connection to get through the day. Be it work, be it business, be it personal video calls to our friends and family, technology is the key. Businesses online have grown tremendously when it comes to covid essentials. Where we knew only a few brands that contributed to hygiene, now there are in-numerable brands that manufacture sanitizers and masks and sell them at a large scale. Many have switched their products to sanitisers considering the demand of the hour and have made huge profits. There is absolutely no doubt that the one who knows the right usage of technology can do wonders.

Well, the not so good year has finally come to an end and we can see that things are starting to fall in place. People are finally getting out of all the stress 2020 has caused. Everyone’s set to step into 2021 with great hopes and huge bucket lists. Now, as the world is getting back on its feet and as everything around us is re-opening, I’m sure we could use a vacation. Use? We basically NEED a vacation and we deserve some peaceful time that relaxes us from the core. Well, travelling post pandemic comes with extra precaution, but as long as we maintain social distancing and keep sanitising often, I think we’re good to go. Let me list some destinations that are perfect for an enthralling vacation.

Kuta

Kuta is the best known tourist area in Bali, Indonesia and offers a decent surfing beach, despite being chronically overdeveloped. Travellers who feel overwhelmed by hawkers, and traffic jams should base themselves in the nearby Seminyak. Kuta is a fun destination for a big night of bar and club-hopping. With the peaceful, silent road between the coconut trees, long beaches and great food, Kuta is a good destination to think about for a vacation.
